This page explains how to request the permanent deletion of your FinnApp.AI account and the personal data we hold about you. The process is the same regardless of whether you signed up on Android, iOS, or the web. You can also review our full Privacy Policy for additional context.
1. Two Ways to Request Deletion
You can request the deletion of your account using either of the following methods. Both result in the same outcome.
Any signed-in user can delete their own account directly — you do not need to be a group administrator.

2. What Gets Deleted
FinnApp.AI is built around shared household groups, so a single member can leave without destroying the financial history the rest of the group depends on. When you delete your own account, your personal data is removed while the group's shared records are preserved in anonymized form.

If you are the only member of your group, no shared data needs to be preserved — use Delete Group instead, which permanently erases the entire group and all of its data.

Before deleting an account, we verify that the request comes from the legitimate account owner. This protects you against unauthorized deletion. Verification may involve confirming the email address associated with the account, requesting additional information that only the account owner would know, or sending a confirmation link to the registered email. We will not delete the account until verification is complete.
6. Changing Your Mind
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible once it has been processed. If you change your mind, contact us at info@finnapp.ai before the 30-day deactivation window closes. Once your account is deactivated and the data is purged from production systems, we cannot restore it.
7. Deleting Specific Data Without Deleting Your Account
If you do not want to delete your entire account but want to remove specific items (for example, individual transactions, categories, tags, or AI assistant history entries), you can do so directly from inside the app at any time without involving us.
